About Us
Most of our work comes from Redondo Beach homeowners who called once and kept the number. That is the whole business model, and it shapes how we treat a first visit.
Some vents cannot be cleaned back to working condition, and we say so on the spot. A crushed flex duct behind a dryer, a run that has been kinked into an S behind a wall, a foil accordion line that has torn open inside a floor cavity — brushing those does not fix anything, and we are not going to charge you to find that out twice. Same with a hood that has corroded shut. We would rather tell you the run needs to be replaced or rerouted and point you to dryer vent installation than push a cleaning that buys you three weeks. And if we pull the line and the lint load is light, we tell you that too. Plenty of people call us on a schedule when the vent does not need clearing yet.
We work the South Bay and Gateway Cities corridor of LA County, and there are two distinct vent realities here. Single-story postwar tract homes where the dryer sits in a garage corner, service porch, or kitchen alcove with a short 4-8 ft run straight through a stucco wall. Then the newer three-story townhomes and condos where the laundry closet is stacked on an upper floor and the duct runs 15-30+ ft vertically to a roof jack or through soffit. Older beach-era homes were often retrofitted for a dryer decades after they were built, so ducts get routed under floors, through crawlspaces, or around framing with multiple elbows. The coastal marine layer keeps overnight humidity high nearly year round, which means longer drying cycles and lint that stays damp and packs into a felt-like layer instead of blowing free. Add the regional dust load, ocean salt near the coast, freeway and rail particulate through Compton, Lynwood, and Paramount, Santa Ana events pushing inland dust and ash toward the water in fall. The buildup is heavier than what a lint screen suggests.
On site we pull the dryer out, disconnect the transition, and read airflow at the exterior hood before we touch anything so we have a baseline. Then a rotary brush on a flexible vent line runs the duct from the appliance end, with a vacuum captured at the opening so the lint comes to us instead of into your laundry room. We work behind gas and electric units, stacked and side-by-side, and we handle the vertical roof-jack runs the townhomes need. We check the flapper hood, because constant moisture and salt corrode them until they stick open or shut, and a stuck hood undoes the cleaning. Airflow gets read again at the end. What moves the cost on a job like this is mostly length and shape: a short straight run through stucco is quick, a three-story vertical to a roof jack or a retrofitted crawlspace route with four elbows takes real time and roof access. Damaged duct we find along the way is a separate conversation, and you can read how we approach it on our dryer vent repair and dryer vent inspection pages.
Our service area
We cover Redondo Beach and the surrounding towns. If you're in one of these areas and have a dryer vent cleaning problem, call us. We usually get out the same day.
How we decide between cleaning, repairing, and replacing a vent line
A packed duct is not a slow annoyance. It is heat with nowhere to go, sitting behind a stucco wall. In the South Bay and Gateway Cities corridor of LA County, the marine layer keeps overnight humidity high nearly year round. Lint absorbs that moisture and mats into a felt-like layer. Waiting a season makes the same run harder to clear, not easier.
So the first call we make is whether the duct can be cleaned at all. Single-story postwar tract homes usually have a short run, four to eight feet, straight out through the wall from a garage corner or service porch. Those almost always clean. We recommend replacement only if material is wrong, or the interior is crushed or scored.
Three-story townhomes are the other reality. Fifteen to thirty-plus feet vertical, up to a roof jack or through a soffit. Long runs hide flex pipe joints and sags. We inspect before promising anything.
Exterior hoods get judged separately. Salt air corrodes flappers until they stick open or shut. A stuck-shut hood defeats a perfect cleaning, so we replace it instead of cleaning around it.
Old beach-era retrofits routed under floors and crawlspaces, around framing, sometimes need rerouting instead. We say so plainly.
